Business development and firm value are an important part of the CLSA concept. In order to facilitate the needs of its Fellows, the society maintains the CLSA Referral Network. It is designed to be a primary resource for business and practice opportunities internationally and from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
Many lawyers who are Fellows of the CLSA are already affiliated with associations of independent law firms that provide the opportunity to exchange information leading to cross-representation of clients. However, for many sole practitioners or smaller firms, such referral opportunities are limited. In fact, even larger firms that are already members of a referral network may find the need for expertise in an area of law in which no affiliated member is well-versed. The CLSA Referral Network provides Fellows the opportunity to cross-sell services among clients that need multi-jurisdictional representation or consultation. Frequently, lawyers practicing in one part of the country find themselves in need of a contact in a jurisdiction or foreign country where he or she is without information about the practice expertise of lawyers where needed. The CLSA Referral Network is designed to be an ultimate source for obtaining the help needed. All Fellows are part of the Network. No additional fee is required.
CLSA administration is available to screen Fellows as needed for streamlining the selection process of requesting Fellows. Requests for referral assistance may be made at ReferralRequest@ConstructionSociety.org.
